LetterFromC is a personal letter addressed to the viewer from a sender whose identity is ambiguous. Its visual space is in between a personal letter and a command line. The handwriting in the work is generated by a modified version of scrabbleGAN. The modification makes mid-word change in style possible and enables the animations in the work. The popular definition of intelligence is always changing, and in recent decades it has been heavily influenced by computational technologies and artificial intelligence. Due to its history, their design and architecture has come to heavily rely on English. ScrabbleGAN is no exception. By design, it is not applicable to character structures such as that of Chinese and Korean. LetterFromC aims to investigate how expressing ourselves changes by utilizing these newer mediums. How as a result we censor parts of ourselves that doesn’t fit into the dominant culture of tech.
